Recently, there has been another good news about the research and development of new products by Shaanxi Baoguang. The first vacuum on load tap changer with fully independent intellectual property rights, developed by Baoguang and other units in China, has completed all type tests for ± 800 kV ultra-high voltage converter. Its key technical indicators have reached the international leading level, successfully achieving independent and controllable control of the entire ultra-high voltage converter industry chain.

As one of the key core equipment of the ultra-high voltage direct current transmission project, the smooth and reliable operation of the on load tap changer determines the effective operation of the project, which in turn depends on the stability and reliability of the vacuum interrupter used for the on load tap changer. As the heart of the on load tap changer, it uses a vacuum interrupter to handle high current switching, carrying an electrical life of 360000 times and a mechanical life of 1.5 million times. The converter on-load tap changer and its supporting vacuum interrupter are high-precision electromechanical integrated products. Previously, China had relied on imports for a long time for this product, and its reliability was severely insufficient. Multiple serious failures occurred, making it urgent to develop domestically produced on load tap changers with higher reliability.

The successful passing of this type test once again proves the reliability and stability of the Baoguang vacuum interrupter. In the next step, Baoguang Co., Ltd. will accelerate the improvement of industrial processing and manufacturing capabilities, continue to promote the engineering demonstration application of domestic on-load tap changers for ultra-high voltage converters, and provide stronger support for high-level power equipment in China.
